DDD Dress

Sweeping strokes of golden appliqué wrapped around a peppering of coloured embellishment. 3/4 sleeves, nipped in at the waist and the neatest little collar you will ever see on a dress that costs £89.

The perfect dress for a bit of DDD (Dinner, Drinks and a Dance). Just as well it's my BFF's birthday next weekend. I'm after some orangey-red shoes to match the orangey-red embellishment and my orangey-red lipstick.

So here we are, over a month down the line from the last post. How did this happen? How did the 22nd November turn into 29th December?!

I guess that's what happens when you get up at six, and get home fourteen hours later during the week. All for the love of what I was doing in-between those hours though. Any ideas I had were implemented in the day job... and my dearest blog was left alone. Readership dwindling, and making me look like a right  tosser for not making the effort every now and again.

I definitely had plans to blog throughout my internship at ASOS. Oh yes... Great plans. If anything, I know that that's what a lot of you would like to read about. But contrary to popular belief, I'm pretty private when it comes to my actual life. Aside from the the odd Instagram or Facebook/Twitter update, I like to keep everything else for me, and my own thoughts. Don't want anyone else's thought's imposing on mine do I?!

Most friends and even family have no idea what I get up do day to day, and when they ask, I give them a snippet. Not wholly intentional, it just comes naturally. I mention something in a meet with the girls, to responses of "Why don't we know about this?!".. Just didn't enter my head to tell you, really. Is that weird??

So that's probably why I haven't documented the last three months on here.

BUT. We're now in the sandwich of the Christmas break (in-between Christmas Day and NYE)... aka, the boring bit. I've drunk enough prosecco, ate enough biscuits, chocolates, mince pies, and various versions of, lets face it, a turkey sandwich to know that I'm on the home straight. Back to London where I will be starting at Grazia. Maybe I'll make it my new years resolution to be a bit more transparent day to day? I'll try.
And God loves a trier. Apaz.

"Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven't found it yet, keep looking. Don't settle. As with all matters of the heart, you'll know when you find it. And, like any great relationship, it just gets better and better as the years roll on. So keep looking until you find it. Don't settle."

Mr Jobs, you were quite obviously a technological genius. Your words and philosophies however, completely surpass the realms of description.

Diana Vreeland: The Eye Has To Travel

"There's only one very good life, and that's the life you want and you make it yourself."

Need. To. See. This.

This definitely beats wrestling with an unruly umbrella. No almost poking people's eyes out with wayward spokes either. Get a rain hat and pepper it with chandelier droplets. It seems so obvious now.

I knew fashion would make the world a safer place.

Frazzled but Fierce

I just love this front row sketch, pencilled by none other than the fire haired renegade Grace Coddington herself. Taken from her book Grace: The Memoir (out 20th November), the odd bod fashion editor adds yet another dimension to her frazzled but fierce fashion persona. An absolute fave in the eyes of most, I can't wait to get my hands on it. Odds on to be a good read.

My favourite sketch has to be Hamish Bowles.. The ultimate fashion hero.

Spotted this double cross necklace in Topshop last week. -A little more understated than my usual jewellery.

Nothing that a bit of vintage YSL hardware can't fix.

A plain black T-Shirt will act as the perfect canvas.

From The Vault

Clearing out my overwhelming image files on my Mac.. I stumbled across this little gem. How was this over three years ago?!

Outfit prep before my Saturday jaunt.
-Bought the quilted messenger bag! (After trawling 4 Zara stores to find one in stock).

Get yours quick here.

Always Play Fur

Images courtesy of style.com

I spent today at two of my favourite shopping haunts, Portobello Market and Brick Lane. Anyone in or around London today would have noticed the dramatic drop in temperature -my frozen nose and paralysed fingers are testament to this.

Both haunts were peppered with fur, both real and fake, vintage and new. Whether you're pro or against it, there's a way for everyone to feel the fur effect.

I'm on the hunt for a vintage mink.. And will scour until I find the perfect one.. that I am 100% confident was ethically sourced. A couple of it's price friendly faux fur counterparts have caught my eye on the high street. They'll satisfy my need until I find 'the one'.

Bernhard Willhelm // Viral Vacuums

"I love sex and I love making love. I am clever, employed, well-read, opinionated, single and my mom constantly assures me, despite the horrendous photos, that I am irresistible. Just recently, I decided that I will not die, so it is inevitable too that I will realise my dream which is to be an ex-asshole and to be a rich contented bum."

Well Mr Willhelm, your clothes are not for me.. but I think your reasonings are fetch. Super gifs too.

Bag Boner

So I bring you this post from my bed, with a mother of an eye squint thanks to a scratched cornea. God only knows how I managed it.. but managed it I did. In a big way.

After spending the majority of yesterday and today engulfed in a multitude of floral pillows and blankets, my eye has finally adjusted to light in 5-10 minute bouts at least.

I've become pretty handy at navigating life/my flat/the internet with my left eye.. so it was with this beady little fellah, that I spotted this.

A little bit Chanel-y, a little bit celine-y, a little bit mine-y.

Best of all, it's from Zara. £39.99. That's THIRTY NINE POUNDS AND NINETY NINE PENCE. As part of my birthday present, my lovely friends bought me in-store credit for my fave high street store. They know me too well. I'm all over Zara this weekend.

I can't wait to see it with two functioning eyes.

The ultimate #BagBoner

KENZO Moment

New I should have bought that bad boy when I first saw it.
Shoulda Coulda Woulda are the last words of a Kenzo-less fool.

Blonde Ambition

As the one year birthday of my chocolate brown locks aproaches, the desire to return to my buttery blonde ways ensues. The constant battle between my vanity and the health of my hair folicles will probably continue well into the winter months.

The Boot: On Asos

I'm a sucker for a good winter boot. Especially when they start with G and end in venchy. Unfortunately, post London move and pre Christmas present buying, I can't really excuse the price tag.

Call me biased.. but Asos is most definately the place to head for trend led, price happy winter footwear. I've collected my top 10 here. The Asos Clash suede knee highs being my absolute fave! They look SO much more expensive than they are. The perfect example of a designer look for a high street price.

Straight to the top of my Xmas list.

The Russian pack don't do it by halves.

Totally following their lead this leason.

Oh Hey

Ok dear blog. I've been neglecting you.. Sozzles. But for good reason I assure you. In the last fortnight I packed up my bags and headed for the big city. Two taxis, a bus journey and numerous sofa's later I moved into my new room in East London, which is to be my base for the next 3 months of my Editorial internship at Asos. I've learned so much in the space of two weeks. Enough buzz words to fill an Asos dictionary, and enough life lessons to fill at least half a chapter of a biography.

I'm sure there will be a more detailed post to come... And I'll divulge the inner mechanics of the social/fashion/style/business/marketing/design hub that is Greater London House aka Asos HQ.

But for now, I am far too exhausted to write something that does it justice.

So, here's a picture of one of my A/W must haves.. courtesy of Henry holland.

Hello bejewelled hat.

Vote CARDIFF as the UK's most stylish city!! #StreetFashionWeek

Last week, I, along with six other Grazia Style Spotters embarked on a whistle stop tour of our home cities to find the best of the best of the sartorially blessed for #StreetFashionWeek.

The snaps are in.. and now it's down to you to vote CARDIFF as the best dressed city!!

"Eclectic is the vibe in Cardiff, with clashing prints, kooky accessories and pops of colour. Grazia found boyish blazers, big satchels and lots of hats - Cardiff was probably the most fashion-adventurous city they saw. The cargo jacket reigns supreme in Cardiff adding that dash of grunge"

How to vote:

You can now vote HERE!

Everyone who votes will be in with a chance of winning TONI & GUY Hair Meet Wardrobe styling product sets worth £50 and one of five £50 Warehouse vouchers!!

Celine. Crisp. Closet.

A quick outfit snap.
Evidently I was feeling clean lines and contrasting patterns when pulling this outfit. The crisper the mornings, the more tweed and waffle effect ensembles creep out of my closet.

ASOS Internship Competition

So the last fortnight has been pretty hectic to say the least! The October issue of Company Magazine, that I guest-edited hit the shelves. I was also approached by Grazia Magazine to become a regional ambassador for the publication, #StreetFashionWeek being the first exciting project!

Then, this happened..

I entered, and won!

After meeting with the lovely ladies at Asos, they offered me the internship. The last few days have consisted of me jacking in my part time job.. franticly searching for a London living space.. and getting excited to spend my birthday and the Christmas build up in the capitol!!

My fellow interns out there will also understand how ridiculously exciting it is to actually be payed to intern! Hoorah!

Stay tuned for updates on my navigation of this world we call fashion.

YSL Closet Find

Ever get that urge at 10pm to clear out your closet?.. and when you do, you find a stash of hidden gems that you had forgotten about smouldering in boxes or between sheaths of tissue paper.. then spend the rest of the night trying them on and creating whole new outfits with the introduction of those very pieces?

So just me then.

[Instagram filters making my chocolate locks look red!]

Say hello to my little friends. These bad boys will be making an appearance in an up and coming outfit post for sure. They give me the urge to dress like Hillary Banks. Anyone else getting that vibe?

BREAKING NEWS! Grazia Street Fashion Week

So, being members of the blogosphere an' all.. We're all well versed in the importance of street style. Wether it's a quick Instagram snap in the bedroom mirror, or Fashion Week style clustertography [see ADR above] ..and yes, I did just make that up. Street fashion has become the crux of the industry, and lies between the foundations of a designer's scrapbook.. slowly but surely materialising into the the lust-worthy creations we see stomping down the runway, plastered across our fave mags (oh hey Grazia) and ultimately in the stores we save our pennies to shop in.

Full circle. Funny, huh?

This takes me to SFW. A week you NEED to pen into your diaries. Fancy yourself as Cardiff's very own Olivia Palermo? Or maybe Caroline Sieber? Grazia is giving you the chance to have your own piece of the sidewalk catwalk.

The week of Saturday 22nd to Friday 28th of September will see 7 fashion bloggers (including me in Cardiff) invade their home city to find the best of the best of the sartorially blessed.

Each day, the pictures taken will be uploaded live to Graziadaily.co.uk.. with the opportunity for you to upload pictures of yourself in your strongest look from the 22nd September. Those voted the most stylish 5 will win a £250 Warehouse voucher!

Don't forget to vote for your favourite city from October 1st... with 5 £50 Warehouse vouchers up for grabs for those who vote!!

As I said, I will be scouting the streets of Cardiff for the chic, the styled, the creative and the "pahh.. oh, this old thing"'s.

Start point : Warehouse, St David's 2 which will also house the in-store hair makeover experience by Toni & Guy -open to everyone!

The SFW Time Table :

Saturday 22nd: Liverpool
Sunday 23rd: Birmingham
Monday 24th: London
Tuesday 25th: Cardiff
Wednesday 26th: Manchester
Thursday 27th: Leeds
Friday 28th: Edinburgh

Get involved and spread the word using the Twitter hashtag #streetfashionweek

I'm planning to mark Cardiff's rightful place firmly on the fashion map.
Who's with me?

Find out more here or grab this week's Grazia, out today!
